Jane has been a Naturopath and Medical Herbalist for over 10 years and works as a Senior Product Specialist at Douglas Pharmaceuticals.

In this role, she gets to help concept, research and give expert naturopathic knowledge in product development for the Clinicians, Phloe and Brave Face ranges. Jane says “Product development is a complex process, but is amazing to see something you have been passionately creating hit the shelves and benefit many people”.

Jane also has her own clinic in Auckland where she sees private clients for consultations. Always keen to learn and grow, Jane is currently training as a health coach.

What areas of natural health are you most passionate about?  
I am really passionate about digestive health as so many people put up with bad gut health. Good digestion is so important for nutrient absorption, healthy skin, immune health and even creating our mood chemicals. I also love herbal medicine for sleep, mood support, adrenal balance and restoration and for women’s health.
When it comes to women’s wellness, what’s one thing we could all do to experience more ease in our day?  
As women we feel that we must be everything to everyone. Great employee, mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter and stay fit and look fabulous. So, for wellness women must be ok with saying no, learn to ask for help, take time for yourself every day, it will make you kinder and use adrenal herbs to keep the balance.
What are your daily non-negotiables to feel balanced and calm?  
I love my exercise, so my daily workout is my gift to myself and where I destress, unwind and build up my feel-good chemicals. I also like to cook, so as part of my daily ritual, I like to get up early and enjoy this quiet time to make nutritious food for the day for me and my family.
What are your top 3 tips to get a good night’s sleep?  
  1. Put your devices away at least 1 hour before bed.

  2. Don’t put off going to bed if you are worried you won’t get to sleep. Go early, use the time to relax so you don’t get over tired.

  3. Passionflower is my favourite for when you can’t drop off. Magnesium often helps if you are waking in the night, getting leg cramps or have twitchy legs.
