Celtic Sea Salt – your hydrating, DIY electrolyte

Looking for a natural electrolyte drink to support your hydration while working out, or to cool off with on warmer days? Celtic Sea Salt might be your secret ingredient.

Salt provides natural electrolytes to keep you hydrated during physical activity or perspiration. This tasty recipe, developed by our Naturopath and Sports Scientist – Claudia Nozza, delivers natural sources of sodium and potassium to support proper hydration – and has added vitamin C too!


Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 240ml water (a full glass)
  • 1/8 teaspoon (a pinch) of Salt of the Earth Celtic Sea Salt (for sodium)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Viberi Organic New Zealand blackcurrant powder (potassium and vitamin C)
  • 1/4 teaspoon honey (for flavour and glucose - optional)

Method:

  1. Mix the Celtic Sea Salt and blackcurrant in water until fully dissolved.
  2. Add honey or maple syrup to sweeten (optional). The glucose adds sweetness - but even better, it helps your body absorb the electrolytes.
  3. Stir the mocktail thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Enjoy!
