Ready in less than 5 minutes, it’s great for those short on time and looking for a convenient – and nutritious, option to add to their day. Top it with your choice of fruit (we’ve added bananas), protein powder, a handful of buckwheat or crushed nuts, or for a boost of omega 3, add your favourite hemp seeds or chia seeds.
The star ingredient: Dragonfruit
Also known as Pitaya, Dragonfruit is a tropical fruit that comes from Central and South America. On top of its unique – and beautiful appearance, Dragonfruit is a superstar for boosting iron levels in our body and is a great source of vitamin C. Ingredients:
- 50ml of Daily Good Organic Blackcurrant Immunity Shots
- 1 scoop/serving of your favourite protein powder (we love Nuzest Vanilla)
- ½ cup of frozen dragonfruit
- 1 banana (½ in the smoothie, ½ for the topping)
- Handful of frozen strawberries
- ¼ cup of milk (for a dairy-free alternative, swap for soy milk or other of your choosing)
Toppings (optional):
- 1 teaspoon of chia seeds, hemp seeds and/or buckwheat groats
Method:
- Add all smoothie ingredients to a blender and blend.
- Add extra milk or water to get desired consistency.
- Pour into a breakfast bowl and flatten with the back of a spoon.
- To decorate your smoothie bowl: Sprinkle the top of your smoothie with a teaspoon of chia seeds. Slice the remaining ½ of a banana and place on top.
- Eat with a spoon & enjoy!
