Dressings are a delicious way to transform even the most basic salad into a droolworthy meal that your tastebuds can’t deny. They’re also great when drizzled over roasted vegetables.
Packed with common pantry staples, putting together a tasty dressing recipe has never been easier. When convenience and time are top priorities, I’ve created three satisfying dressing recipes that tick the boxes.
Umami Miso Dressing
This ‘throw together’ Miso Dressing blends salty umami flavours from miso and tamari-soy with just a hint of sweetness from pure raw manuka honey. It’s wonderful drizzled over a tray of freshly roasted vegetables or mixed through a crispy lettuce and leaf salad.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup Urban Hippie Miso Paste
- 1 Tablespoon BioHoney Manuka Honey MG300+
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 Tablespoon Chantal Organics Tamari Soy Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Chantal Organics Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil or another oil of your choice
- 2 Tablespoon water
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a small jar or serving bowl, mix until well combine and smooth. Add more water if a runnier consistency is desired.
Tangy Tahini Dressing
Tahini is a fridge must-have for easy creamy dressings. This rich dressing is a blend of tangy, savoury flavours from tahini, savoury yeast, and zingy lemon. It’s lovely served as a dipping sauce for fresh (or pickled) veggie sticks or generously drizzled over salads and Buddha bowls.
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons Matakana Superfoods Pure Organic Coconut Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons warm water
- ¼ cup Chantal Organics Hulled Tahini
- ½ lemon, juiced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 teaspoons Lotus Savoury Yeast Flakes
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
Method:
- In a small jar or dish dissolve coconut sugar in warm water.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix until well combine and smooth. Add more water if a runnier consistency is desired.

Herby Hemp Dressing
If you’ve got an abundance of herbs, this Herby Hemp Dressing is sensational served over roasted potatoes, carrot or pumpkin or even over fresh greens. With a combination of fresh herbs, nutty hemp hearts and hemp oil it’s as wholesome as it is tasty.
Ingredients:
- 4 Tablespoons New Hempishere Garlic Flavoured Hemp Seed Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Chantal Organics Hemp Seeds
- 2 Tablespoons Braggs Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ cup fresh chopped herbs such as parsley, thyme, chives and oregano
- 1 garlic clove (optional)
- 2 teaspoons BioHoney Manuka Honey MG300+
- Salt and ground pepper to taste
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a small jar or serving bowl, mix until well combined. Alternately blend in a food processor until smooth and creamy.
