3 easy ways to keep little ones well with artemis

It’s back to school time! I always love the feeling of getting back into a rhythm after the beautiful chaos of summertime. New stationary, a slight chill in the evening, and the promise of soup season all help me relinquish my grip on summer days.

But if your kiddos are feeling reluctant to head back into the classroom, you’re not alone.

The good news?  artemis is here with all natural ways to support your little ones to get back into the rhythm and routine of school and kindy feeling happy, healthy, and calm.

And we all know that happy and healthy kids = happy and healthy parents!

Here are three easy ways that we love to help kids sail through the back-to-school transition.

1. For daily calm

Butterflies in the stomach about starting or going back to school are totally normal. And there are some beautiful ways to support your kiddos through this transition, so they feel calm and collected.

Plants have been used for centuries to support daily calm in children. Chamomile is the quintessential kids herb, an effective yet gentle calming plant. Useful for supporting stress, tension, and sleep.

Passionflower is a well-known plant for supporting an overworked nervous system, and Lavender is an effective plant to help minimise worry and nervousness as well as support the body’s response to stress.

Used for daily support, these plants will help your kiddo ease into the transition of back to school, and before you know it, they’ll be trading croc charms and asking you to buy into the latest school trend, no stress at all.

2. For thriving immune health

You know the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”? Well, this is definitely the case when it comes to keeping your kiddos clear of ills and chills. Daily immune support is the way to go to ensure your kids have the best chance at keeping well.

Our award-winning and bestselling Kids ViroGone Liquid and Kids ViroGone Spray can be used daily at the lower dose to support the maintenance of a healthy immune system.

Harnessing the power of Central Otago Thyme, scientifically researched for its unique and potent bioactive properties, and blended with other carefully selected immune and respiratory-supporting herbs such as Echinacea, Elderflower, and Licorice, Kids ViroGone liquid or spray are your daily go-tos for little immune systems.

3. Troubleshoot as needed

Of course, it won’t all be smooth sailing. Stress, sleep interruptions and bugs are all a normal and expected part of life and growing up.

But here are a few ways that you can help your kiddos get through the hiccups with a bit more ease.

Sleep

It can be challenging to get back into a good sleep routine, especially as the days are still so long and sunny. Support your kiddos to have a restful and restorative sleep with Kids Settle & Sleep. The same formula that helps support calm days can also support calm and restful nights as the plants help to ease worries and relax the mind and body so your little ones can drift off peacefully and wake up happy and rested in the morning – the dream for all parents!

Ills and chills

The good news is that if you have taken up the mantle of daily immune support, then you already have a great tool in your pocket for the first sign of ills and chills.

Kids ViroGone liquid or spray can be used at a more frequent dose to support the body’s immune response at the first sign of ills and chills. Always read the label and use as directed, of course.

But if symptoms do progress and your little one is feeling it in their chest, then Kids Chest Relief is here to provide support for tight, dry and tickly airways, to soothe and protect the chest, and to support easy breathing. With an option for day and one for night that also helps to provide support for calm and restorative sleep.

If your little one is sounding a bit more phlegmy, then Kids BronchiClear is support for clearing mucus and providing deep acting lung support.

Holistic tips for getting little ones back to school

With my 5-year-old starting school this year, here’s a few non-negotiables we’re setting in place to support a smooth transition:

1. Introducing rhythms the week before

We are attempting to get back to normal bedtimes and wake times, as well as eating meals at our “normal” times. I’m also doing a bit of meal planning and prep so we have some healthy but yummy lunches ready to reduce morning stress. Think nut-free energy balls, pre-chopping some fruit and veg, and getting a few special treats for lunches so my kiddo has something to look forward to.

2. Back to school shopping

Look, I’m a bit of an anti-consumerist and I don’t generally use shopping as a way to get a dopamine hit. *However*, I looooove a measured amount of back-to-school shopping. New pencils, a fun eraser, and some sneakers that actually fit those growing feet can all help to turn the switch from reluctant to excited.

3. Plants, of course.

As a Medical Herbalist, plant formulas have played a part of my life for many years and my daughter has had them her whole life. Writing articles like this are as much a reminder to me as they are ideas for you – we will be taking all the products listed above and I’ll be stocking up on the De-Stress and Sleep Restore Sprays for myself as well.
