The cooler temperatures bring with it an increase in winter bugs that people experience as we spend more time inside. Supporting your immune system and staying healthy becomes very important during the winter months.
The immune system is your body’s natural defense mechanism. It’s vital to our health, protecting us from ills and chills and pollutants. For a well-functioning immune system, we ideally need to keep it strong throughout the year. Weleda works to do just this, and especially during the cooler winter months. We draw on the ancient wisdom of herbal support and carefully combine selected, safe natural plant ingredients to create botanical and skincare products to support your family’s wellness.
Weleda’s rigorous standards ensure we’re always doing best by you. With the NATRUE seal for our natural and organic cosmetics, with the UEBT (Union for Ethical BioTrade) seal for our ethical sourced, raw material supply chains, and with B Corp certification for the entire company. B Corp status means that a company meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, balancing profit and purpose. These three certifications show how important being an authentically sustainable company is for Weleda.

3 holistic tips to support you through winter
1. Move your body in some way each day: aim to get outside for some exercise if possible - could you walk with the kids to/from school or park the car further away? A bonus is getting some Vitamin D on the skin, which in turn supports a well-functioning immune system. Or if you can’t get outside, try running up and down the stairs. If you’re working from home be sure to take regular breaks from the computer and do some star jumps or squats, or try some calf raises at your desk while working. Anything is good!
2. Get good quality, restful sleep: We spend a third of our life sleeping, and while we sleep our body regenerates. On average, we need seven hours of sleep a night so that our cells can regenerate, and our immune system can produce new defence cells. Lights down and screens off before bed. Reading books, legs up the wall and a dark cosy room all help. Take magnesium or herbal support for a busy mind and allow the body to rest.
3. Lean on immune support: Natural health supplements such as Echinacea, Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin D are all beneficial to support a healthy immune system for all ages.
