This is a great question. We're very pleased to say this product is manufactured in Europe and adheres to strict quality checks. It undergoes rigorous testing for purity and quality. It's free from artificial additives and contaminants.
The salt is tested for heavy metals, nitrates, phosphates, bacteria, hydrocarbons, pesticides, and radioactivity.
Foreign matter is also tested and must not exceed 0.75%. This includes organic matter such as grass seeds, small sticks, clay and plastics - It's a quality check in place to ensure any foreign matter is kept to a minimum. This means if there are any microplastics present they are the lowest possible concentration.
Independant researchers tested 39 salts brands, only 3 salts were tested to be free from micro plastics. These three brands are from Taiwan (refined sea salt), China (refined rock salt), and France (unrefined sea salt produced by solar evaporation). This is the origin of our Salt of the Earth products. By choosing the unrefined salt you are still receiving the full spectrum of minerals from the sea. Thanks again for your question.
